I grew
up and attended school through high school in
Sunnyvale California (now known as Silicon
Valley) while the community was still acres of
walnut groves and cherry trees. Growing up in a
small community where neighbors were accountable
to each other gave me an intense sense of
“community” and I have carried that community
spirit and commitment with me throughout my
career. Developing community projects and
community participation has become the very
foundation of my professional career.
I have 25 years of
Development and Fundraising with non-profit
organizations committed to giving back to the
community. My experience has also included
Vice-President of Human Resources charged with
creating the volunteer recruiting infrastructure
for the 1990 Goodwill Games, a Lifetime
Substitute Teaching Credential for grades K-12
as well as business experience having owned my
own art company and 7 years in real estate.
My fund
development experience includes Director of
Special Events for MultiCare, Director of
Capital Campaigns for Franciscan Foundation,
Director of Development and Marketing for Austin
Children’s Museum, Associate Director of Giving
Programs at Cornish College of the Arts and
Capital Campaign Chair for the Gig Harbor
History Museum.
My first love has
always been working with non-profits and with
the people in the community whose generosity
with their time and resources make our community
a great place to live, work and raise our
families. This generosity of spirit, commitment
to community and the life-long desire not to
just make a living, but to make a difference is
why I am committed to the Boys & Girls Club.
