Eva Henderson

Eva accepted the position as the BOTT Lab Director at the East Side Branch Boys and Girls Club in the summer of 2006.

She grew up in Southfield, MI and graduated from Southfield-Lathrup High School. She continued her studies and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Michigan State University. After graduating from college she discovered through volunteering and a student internship that her true passions are teaching children and computers.

In 1997, Eva was given the opportunity to put her passions to work. She was invited to work at The Hockaday School in Dallas, TX as their teacher intern. Upon completing her internship Eva was offered a permanent position with St. Philip’s School & Community Center in Dallas. She served there for nearly a decade as Technology Coordinator and Middle School Computer Teacher. During her employment with St. Philip’s, Eva implemented several programs that showcased her students’ technology work as well as collaborated with outside organizations on technology programs for students, parents and surrounding area residents such as Monthly Family Technology Nights, weekly Senior citizens’ computer classes and low-income tax services.

As Eva persists to strive for teaching excellence, she continues her learning by taking courses in her down time from work so that she can ensure she is able to share a vast amount of knowledge with her children at the Club.
