Jo Ann started her athletic career
at age 8 on an AAU swim team. This
began an eleven year swimming
passion (and a lot of hard work!).
She capped her athletic achievements
by attending the National Collegiate
finals in Tempe, Arizona as a
freshman at the University of
Northern Colorado.
Her educational achievements include
a BA in K-12 Physical Education and
an MA in Sports Administration,
both from the University of Northern
Colorado. She completed 17 years
teaching K-12 physical education and
adapted physical education in
Aurora, Colorado. Jo Ann worked
extensively with Special Olympics
for 10 years at the local and state
level. She attended two World
Special Olympics Games, once as
coach and once as Head of
Delegation.
She then managed the first full
service indoor recreational center
in Great Falls, Montana for 5 1/2
years. When a position came
available with the Boys & Girls
Clubs of North Central Montana, she
found the ultimate culmination of
her passion for giving children the
tools to be successful citizens and
her ability to lead others. Jo Ann
was the Executive Director for Boys
& Girls Clubs of North Central
Montana in Great Falls, Montana for
3 years. Her move to Washington was
necessitated by her first
granddaughter. (Pictures are
