JOB SUMMARY:
Under the
supervision of the Facilities Assets Manager, the Custodial /
Maintenance Tech. primary responsibilities are the care and
upkeep of assigned Branch Club. This individual implements the
organization’s Property Management Program utilizing the
Property Management Manual. All of the facilities operated by
the organization shall convey a safe, clean and attractive
environment conducive to youth development. This position
requires the individual to wear a back brace when doing lifting
of any kind.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
·
Assures
that the overall appearance of the facility is safe, clean and
attractive and meets the needs of the Branch clubs.
·
Assure
that the Housekeeping Standards for the Branch Clubs is
followed.
·
Keep
Housekeeping and Cleaning Routine files are current.
·
Performs
custodial services daily for the Branch Clubs.
·
Informs
Facilities Asset Manger of specific cleaning / maintenance
needs.
·
Performs
in-house repairs and grounds keeping services in a timely
fashion.
·
Assure
that the Housekeeping & Facility Standards for the Branch Clubs
is followed.
·
Financial procedures as indicated by the organization’s Standard
Operating Procedures Manual are followed.
·
Housekeeping and Maintenance files current.
·
An
annual Maintenance Planning Calendar is kept.
·
Annual
inspections are performed according to the Property Management
Program.
·
Perform
assigned and identified maintenance tasks at scheduled
intervals.
·
Request
for Repair forms are utilized and filed.
·
Cleaning, Maintenance supplies and equipment are maintained and
orderly.
·
Report/maintenance concerns to Facilities Assets Manager in a
timely fashion.
·
Minor
carpentry, electrical and plumbing work as necessary and in a
timely fashion.
·
Perform
assigned and identified maintenance tasks at scheduled
intervals.
·
Assist
in annual maintenance of all five (5) Branch Clubs.
·
Make
certain proper cleaning supplies and equipment are maintained
and orderly.
·
Report
repairs/maintenance concerns to Facilities Assets Manager as
soon as possible.
·
Other
duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
REQUIRED:
·
High
school Diploma or GED.
·
Three
years documented paid work experience as a custodian and
maintenance tech.
·
Good
communication skills to include ability to access input and
retrieve information from the computer.
·
Must
have strong organizational skills.
·
Ability
to work effectively and productively with others.
·
Ability
to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings,
grave yard, weekends and/or holidays.
·
Experience in building, grounds, custodial and maintenance.
·
Working
knowledge of tools and machinery related to maintenance and
upkeep of facilities.
·
Ability
to work independently and with supervision
·
Current
driver’s license, dependable vehicle and agency required vehicle
liability limits.
·
Must
pass national criminal background check and pre-employment drug
test.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:
Maintain close, daily
contact with Club and HOPE Center Staff (professional and
volunteers), and supervisor to receive/provide information,
discuss issues, explain, demonstrate or interpret
guidelines/instructions; instruct, and advise/counsel. Works
cooperatively with building tenants, guests and others always
maintaining a professional and positive.
External:
Maintain contact as needed and appropriate with external
community group, organizations that partner with BGCSPS,
schools, member’s parents and others as needed and appropriate
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The
physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job.
Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed, may require
walking primarily on a level surface for long periods throughout
the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or
lifting as required to pick up trash bags, water buckets etc.
Proper lifting techniques required, may include lifting up to 50
pounds. Bending and stooping to clean baseboards and pick up
trash. Qualified employees must be able to push a wet mop and
move it side to side to clean club floors. Club floors may be
up 30,000 square feet.
Custodial / Maintenance Tech.
Under the
supervision of the Facilities Assets Manager, this individual’s
primary responsibilities are the custodial, repair, maintenance
and upkeep of the Branch Club. The C/M Tech. implements the
organization’s Property Management Program utilizing the
Property Management Manual. All of the facilities operated by
the organization shall convey a safe, clean and attractive
environment conducive to youth development. They shall be
functional, efficient and accessible to the physically
disabled. The C/M Tech. performs related work as assigned.

stored.

facility.
